In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Carefully ladle the flour mixture into a 4-cup (1 Litre) jar. Tap the jar firmly onto a wooden cutting board to help the mixture settle.
Add half of the old fashioned oats.
Next, add the M&Ms, followed by the chocolate chips.
Add the remaining old fashioned oats. Firmly push down to make room.
Top with the brown sugar.
Place the seal onto the Mason jar and firmly screw on the lid.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of butter with one large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat until well combined. Add the contents of the jar to the butter mixture. Use a rubber spatula to combine the dry ingredients with the wet.Drop heaping tablespoons of the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees F.Remove from oven and allow to cool for 3 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.The nutritional values have been calculated to include the addition of the butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
