A simple syrup, sometimes referred to as a sugar syrup, is in its most basic form, a liquid sugar used to sweeten things like cocktails, fruit juice, and other beverages. But, its use has a much further reach than just a cold and refreshing drink!

Ingredients

Instructions
Add both the sugar and the water to a saucepan.
Over high heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to lift the sugar off the bottom of the saucepan.
Once the mixture comes to a boil, allow to boil for 10 minutes, or until the volume reduces by half.
Cool and transfer to a glass, food-safe bottle with a tight fitting lid.
Store in the fridge for up to six months.
Notes
One serving is equal to 1 teaspoon.
