Head out to your favourite baking supply shop and select the dried fruits you like the most. While you're there, pick up some really good melting chocolate too. Once home, you can easily prepare the most delicious and snack-worthy Chocolate Dipped Dried Fruit to gift to your colleagues, friends, family, and neighbours!
1pounddried fruitUse a mix of dates, apricots, pineapple, ginger, etc. Depending on what you choose, one pound is equal to roughly 3 cups.
1cupmilk chocolate
1cupsemi sweet chocolate
1/4cupwhite chocolate(optional)
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Combine both the milk and semi-sweet chocolate. Place it into a microwave-safe bowl. In increments of 30 seconds and at half power, microwave the chocolate, stirring well between each increment until the chocolate is smooth and silky.
Dip your choice of dried fruit into the chocolate. You can dip them halfway in or all the way if you use tweezers or small tongs. Place the dipped dried fruits onto the prepared baking sheet and allow the chocolate to set.
Repeat step 2 with the white chocolate and drizzle the melted white chocolate over all of the dried fruit or just one or two types as you see in the photos.
Once all of the chocolate has firmed up, transfer the dried fruit to cellophane bags, jars, or a wooden cookie box. Tie with a ribbon and gift them to your loved ones.
Notes
It's hard to determine the serving size because the selected dried fruits will vary from person to person. Also, the size of the cellophane bags or jars will determine how many 1 pound of dried fruit will make. The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to suit your needs.
